What I Learned At The Museum

Posted on February 22nd, 2011 in Uncategorized by mariofms63

Today I’m writing this to tell you about two things I learned at the museum. The first thing is about a judge. He wasn’t just any judge. He was a judge for the Supreme Cort. His name was William Douglas. He was in the Supreme  Cort for 36 years. The year he retired he had a stroke. The Supreme Cort didn’t let him back in until he fully recovered. He was born in Minnesota and died in 1980. he is remembered for what he did to the civil rights and the environment.

Now I’m going to talk you about about the Organ trail. On the trip you could only take what you absolutely needed. You had to leave in early Spring so you could cross the frozen rivers. You also take 2 or 3 oxen to pull your luggage. You took them because they were strong and slow.No horses they are to fast. They also had them because if you ran out of food you could eat them. Not all of them just one. That is what I learned at the museum.

I am writing this to tell you about last week.It was alright. What I think was cool was we got to make a portfolio. The boring part was the test. It was a career test. We had to answer 66 questions. I did it in about ten minutes. When we were done we had to type in our name and click a button.

Then a big chart came up. It showed all the things we were tested on. My highest score was on science.I only chose that because it looked easier to do. There were lots of things for science. Two of the options were astronomer and zoologist. I chose  astronomer because I thought it would be cooler. Another reason was because it paid more.

what happened to the japanese

Posted on December 12th, 2010 in Uncategorized by mariofms63

In these paragraphs I’m going to tell you what happened after pearl Harber got bombed. After pearl harbor got bombed Americans didn’t trust Japanese. Then they started calling  Japanese japs. Then Roosevelt signed something that gave the military the ability to round up all the japs. We gave them 10 days to get ready to move to the new camp. The japs went on a fire sale. They sold every thing they couldn’t take to the camp. 30% of the people in the camp were children. 30% were Americans. The camp got overloaded so they made 10 other camps for the Japs.

Soon we needed troops for the war. The marines let the Japanese in the army because of the way they look. Before they could train they had to take a test. If they failed the test they were killed. They failed the test if they answered yes to number 28. The question said “Would you ever swear your allegiance to the emperor of japan. Many people joined the army to get out of the camp. When the mainlanders Hawaii they didn’t get along. So they sent them back to the camps. When they got back they were all friends.

the day of the dead

Posted on November 8th, 2010 in Uncategorized by mariofms63

My two paragraphs are about the day of the dead. The day of the dead is celebrated by two religions. One of them is the Mexicans. The other is the Christians.  Before the Christians came the Mexicans celebrated day of the dead for two months. When the Christians made them shorten it to a week long . (I don’t think that is fair.) The day of the dead is a day for celebrations and a sad day. It is a celebration day because the dead move on to a better life. It is sad day because the person is dead.

This paragraph is about the Christians day of the dead. The Christians day of the dead is five days shorter than the Mexicans. Unlike the Mexicans the Christians think of the day of the dead as a day to honor the dead. The first day is for the kids that died. Then the second day is for the adults. They usually make a shrine. On the shrine they put pictures of the person and items that represent that person.

Sea of Monsters book report

Posted on October 24th, 2010 in Uncategorized by mariofms63

My book report is on a book called The Sea of Monsters. I just finished the book a few days ago. The book is a mixture of mystery and action. It was created by Rick Riordan. The Sea of Monsters is the second book to The Lightning Thief series. The book is about a boy that is half human and half god. In this book Percy’s friend goes missing. Then Percy and Annabeth have to go looking for him.

At the beginning of the story they introduce Tyson. One of Poseiden’s sons. Because of Tyson no monsters have attacked Percy for a whole year. The reason why is because Tyson is a cyclops. Then on the last day of school Laistrygonian giants attack Percy and Tyson. Then they find out that Grover has gone missing. After that they go out on a journey to find him. On there journey they find out that Grover is being forced to marry a cyclops. Before Percy has to fight the cyclops he finds out that all cyclops are his fathers sons. After Percy beats his half brother he leaves him to rot on his own little island with nobody else.

I once read a story called The Lightning Thief. The story starts with a boy named Percy Jackson. In the story Percy finds out he is a demigod. He then goes to a special camp, and on the way his mom gets kidnapped. He then goes on a journey to find his mom. During his journey he runs into many gods. Some of the gods were helpful but many are out to get him. But he always makes it through the  challenges.

me as an icecream flavor

Posted on September 29th, 2010 in Uncategorized by mariofms63

If I would describe myself as an ice cream flavor I would be rocky road. I think I would be that flavor because I’m soft just like the marshmellows it. I’m also like the nuts because I’m hard. But when you reach the middle you will love it. Then I’m like the outside. I’m sweat like the chocolate. If I asked somebody what they liked about me they would say  how I’m soft. If you asked my mom she would say that she likes every part of my persanalaty. I am also a very social person.

The ice cream also describes me in another way. I’m three nationalities. I’m white because I was born on America. I’m also Mexican. I’m Mexican because my dad is part Mexican. My final nationality is African American. My mom is part black. So all together I’m a pretty interesting ice cream.
